His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, issued a resolution restructuring the Board of Trustees of Khalifa Award for Education, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the resolution, the board includes the following members: His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, His Excellency Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Her Excellency Dr. Amal Abdulla Al Qubaisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Abdulaziz Karaki, former Member of the Senate in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director at Abu Dhabi Education Council.
It is noteworthy that the Khalifa Award for Education, which bears the name of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, was established in 2007 when His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, issued Decree No. (6) on the establishment of Khalifa Award for Education to replace Khalifa Award for Teachers, higher education is considered one of the award’s categories which is aimed at distinguished university professors in teaching, and distinguished university professor in scientific research, as the award aims to value the distinguished people in various fields in the higher education field.
The award also aims to highlight the status of workers of all groups in the field of education and support their different efforts, and contribute to providing a modern and sophisticated educational environment that encourages innovation, creativity and excellence, motivates the people of the State to choose the teaching profession and integrate in it, encourage innovative educators to devise projects and educational programs and implement them, promote the linguistic identity of the State by adopting the Arabic language as the official language , and develop the Arabic language curricula in public and higher education in the State.
The Khalifa Award for Education is considered a gate open to different Arab talents and abilities to improve the reality of educational work and all its components and move it towards distinguished prospects, and create more positive educational initiatives, which in turn will contribute to advancing the process of sustainable human development in the UAE and the Arab world.
