His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, approved names of accepted Emirati students and students with Emirati mothers in governmental higher education institutions, who completed grade 12 in public and private schools in the academic year 2013/2014, with applicable criteria and entry requirements.
The accepted male students from high school graduates of the year 2014, whose names were announced are provisional pending the announcement of the names of the candidates to perform national service, the Minister said that the students who will be exempted from national service this year must confirm must confirm their admission acceptance and complete all the required enrollment procedures, and those who will be conscripted for national service this year will have the right to admission to the educational institutions and will have the priority to enroll in those institutions in September 2015, after completion of the training period under the federal law 6/2014 regarding national military service,
The total number of admitted students for the academic year 2014/2015 is 15,235, including 4535 accepted for studies at United Arab Emirates University, 6454 at the Higher Colleges of Technology, 1745 at Zayed University, 2182 for colleges and institutions that fall under the management of Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical & Vocational Education and Training, and 319 for Emirates College for Advanced Technology.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, extended his profound appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for his patronage towards cultural development taking place in the country, and his continuous support towards higher education, adding that this is a driving force for us to accomplish all the goals and objectives. His Excellency said: We are inspired by His Highness’s guidance towards our country’s universities and colleges to become pioneer centers of education, which contribute to the overall development of the country in order to achieve prosperity to the individual and society, and meet the needs of the labor market according to international standards of scientific and applied quality and excellence.
His Excellency extended his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai, for His Highness’s support to empower the citizens to actively contribute to the country’s progress. His Excellency added: On this occasion, we thank their highnesses, members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, for their continued support for higher education institutions in the State.
His Excellency also express his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Education Council, for his commitment to advance education in the country which reflects confidence of our universities and colleges in His Highness’s vision for the advancement of education and the empowerment of national universities and advancing their academic development to be at the forefront of prestigious universities in the world.
