His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed on the occasion of the students’ return to school and the start of the new academic year, the importance of renewing their hopes and build their ambitions, as they are the makers of the future, and are able to contribute to the building and richness of the State, as its leadership with its constant efforts has been able to build educational edifices that meet all needs, in order to provide a decent life for the people.
On this occasion, His Excellency expressed his pride in the students and the educational , academic, supervisory and administrative members, because they are the basis of society and an element of its development , and the ambition cannot be fulfilled without their efforts, and the change will be with them and for them, calling on all students and faculty members at the beginning of the new academic year 2014-2015 to renew the hopes and instill the values that will build a better future, through the promotion of creativity and innovation.
His Excellency praised the attention paid to the educational process, especially higher education, in the State, through the creation of its infrastructure, in order to have renewed educational edifices of high- value scientific outputs, and reach sustainable and continuous development, stressing that the Ministry has sought through the implementation of its strategic plan to qualify students scientifically to keep up with the civilization and be ready for the job market, by stimulating the mental energies, encouraging innovation, and combining education with research, which will lead to positive results that will positively reflects on the development of community.
His Excellency directed all educational institutions to create the appropriate atmosphere for the students, and strengthen the role of educational guidance, so as to have a strong beginning of the new academic year as we all wish, consistent with the aspirations of our wise leadership, and the size of the great responsibility entrusted to us, which requires of all elements of the educational process to utilize their potential for the success of the educational process, in order to build a student who is armed with science and knowledge, and adheres to the national identity and the community values.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan also emphasized that higher education, with this rapid development, requires of decision-makers and planners in our educational institutions to think carefully to keep pace with such development, and seize the opportunities and encounter the challenges, for its profound impact on all aspects of life, including the economic situation, issues of national priority, and the future vision of the UAE.
