The Ministry of Higher Education and in response to the directives of His Excellency the Minister Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, is participating in the GITEX 2014 exhibition which opens on Sunday the 12th of October in Dubai World Trade Centre, the Ministry’s participation is within the Federal governments platform in order to inform the public in general and its customers in particular of the services of the Ministry and developments that have been made in various areas of its work.
And in line with the smart UAE Government which has recently launched its agenda, in which it identified the road map to reach the first place globally in the e-Readiness Index by 2021, so as to achieve the vision of the State in its golden jubilee, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has worked to raise its E-Readiness by 90% of its services, and this was confirmed by the report of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in the country, the Ministry completed the Scholarship Portal which is a system that was created in line with the policy of the e-government, and in an effort to develop the services offered to students wishing to study on scholarships abroad, and make information more accessible. Therefore, the Scholarship Portal was created for the students in order to enable those who wish to apply for scholarships, follow up on them, view the details of the scholarship student’s file, and introduce the student to the laws and regulations of the Ministry on scholarships. The system can be accessed via the internet and mobile phones that operate through iOS and Android systems, and is available for use by all students who apply for scholarships, scholarship students, Cultural Attachés, academic advisers, parents of students, and the scholarship authorities.
The system includes more than 33 services, including all of the services related to the student academically, administratively, and financially, and other services needed by the students, their parents, or their employer, mainly the Scholarship Department, and also the relevant authorities can make use of it, most importantly, the recruitment bodies and scholarship authorities in the State and elsewhere.
The Ministry also completed the smart Certificate Attestation Service which is a service provided for certificates issued by educational institutions within the State, which includes the attestation of the certificates of all graduates and current students, and the documents of the faculty members and institutions and other documents.
The online services includes the Scholarships Database which provides integrated information about students on scholarships in order to enrich the scholarship programs and policies in the country, and help make the appropriate decisions in a timely manner, it also includes the Equivalency of academic qualifications from accredited higher education institutions outside the State, the Attestation of certificates issued by the accredited private higher education institutions within the State, the issuance of a To Whom It May Concern certificates for the Ministry’s accreditation of private and government higher education institutions within the State and their accredited academic programs, the application of electronic signature for a number of services offered by the Certificate Equivalency Department, including attestation, the reconsideration of the decision of the Certificate Equivalency Committee, inquiry Application of an Educational Institution / Academic Program, the NAPO Form, the CEPA Exam, the Request for licensure of higher education institutions and the renewal of licenses for higher education institutions, the issuance of certification on institutions licensed by the Ministry and their accredited academic programs within the State, E-Payment, E-Dirham, Visa, MasterCard, responding to inquiries of customers electronically, and conducting a video chat to inquire about the services provided by the Ministry, for persons with special needs.The Ministry provides on its website and YouTube channel video clips that explain to the customer how to access its various services, and how to fill out applications of all services, all the way to completing them and obtaining the result.
