Under the guidance of his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and his emphasis on the importance of participating in meetings in support of the efforts of Arab countries in the advancement of scientific research and activation of the Arab strategy for scientific and technical research and innovation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in the meeting of representatives of national authorities for scientific research in the Arab countries, held in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, in collaboration with the National Center for Scientific And Technological Research in Rabat and the patronage of the Arabic League.

The Ministry had received an invitation from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization -ALECSO- to attend the meeting, Dr. Husam Sultan Al Ulama, Director of Scientific Research Department, represented the Ministry in the meeting, and participated in the deliberations and discussions on the implementation of measures and actions in the context of the establishment of the “High Council for Scientific Research and Technological Development and Innovation” which was recommended by the Arab strategy for scientific and technical research and innovation, as one of the mechanisms of activating the role of scientific research in the Arab countries, which will have among its tasks to proposed new structural legislation for Arab scientific research systems, and stimulate scientific research partnerships between relevant institutions, and encourage the launch of joint research projects in priority areas, and prepare a vision for the development of organizations specializing in the marketing of Arab scientific research.

Dr. Al Ulama chaired the fifth working session which is the final session of the discussions that occurred during the previous meetings where discussion of proposals and review of notes and opinions of the participants of the representatives of the Arab countries participating in the meeting and offering the final recommendations took place.
