The Corporate citizenship Institute honored his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in leading the process of higher education and scientific research, and his interest in the community development role of higher education. Professor King V Cheek, Head of the Institute, presented the certificate of excellence shield of the Institute, Mr. Khalid Ahmed Al Hosani, Director of Human Resources, Finance and Legal Affairs Department in the Ministry received it on behalf of his Excellency, Dr. Layla Al Bloushi, Director of Al Gharbeya for Consulting and Training attended the ceremony which was held on Sunday, November 23, 2014.

The Corporate citizenship Institute concluded a training program entitled, Corporate Citizenship in the 21st Century, for the first time in the Middle East, which aims to introduce the basic concepts and principles and general framework for corporate citizenship, explain the evolution of corporate citizenship and its basic keys, and cost reimbursements to practice responsible citizenship for all contributing parties, in addition to linking the corporate citizenship goals to the strategic goals of the institution.

This program was on the sidelines of the Corporate Citizenship Conference which was held in Dubai recently, on the16^th and 17^th of November 2014 under the kind patronage of his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasized the importance of disseminating and consolidating the concept of citizenship and loyalty to this country and its leadership, and the strengthening of the role of values in the community, contributing to further achievements. The Minister stressed on several occasions during his meetings with university students and faculty the need for UAE citizen to cherish that they are Emarati, and have the essential qualities of citizens like belonging to the nation and being ready to serve and build their country, and to ensure the development of their community and make every effort to promote it, the Minister stressed the importance of provision of a suitable scientific and academic environment needed by faculty members which is in line with their interests in the field of research and academics to enable them to serve their community, every UAE citizen should maintain the stable life provided under the wise leadership of his Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brothers their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates, through exercising the rights and duties in a framework of consciousness and commitment.

The Minister has directed the authorities to provide a curriculum that reinforces the elements of citizenship, and to ensure the existence of an educational cadre with a system of values and developmental programs and homeland and society loving, and training and instilling patriotism and citizenship in the hearts and minds of its children in various stages of education, focusing on the rehabilitation of students and community members to be good citizens, to love and respect for their homeland, their leader and guardians.
