Sport Concerns



His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has had numerous contributions in writing the golden history of sports in the UAE through his continuous support, hard work, and outstanding leadership.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak held the banner of serving the country in this field after his father, the late Mubarak Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, who was the first Interior Minister in the UAE and was the head of the largest sport associations in the country, and he gave the sports in UAE all what was needed through occupying a lot of important positions, which promoted the UAE sports.

It is worth mentioning that the deceased Sheikh Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Nahyan formed the first board for the Football Association in the UAE, and played a major role in the rapprochement between UAE people through the great attention paid to the country and citizens.

His son Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan pursued the work of giving and building, and gave a lot for sports in the UAE. So his Excellency has made his mark that will remain clear and renewed through achieving a series of continued successes for sport in the UAE, and his passion for more giving, which will never run out, through the several positions which he has been occupying.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan spares no effort to support the UAE sports, because he believes it is the fundamental element in the construction of the UAE, which the leadership has sought to be the best country in the world, for its people, and all Arab and Muslim brothers, friends, and the entire humanity. For instance, His Excellency, in May 2015, through his position as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, approved to support the UAE Media Association in the State, since he believes in the importance of its role in society.





Participated in the 6th Arabian Gulf Cup (Abu Dhabi), the 7th (Muscat), the 10th (Kuwait), XI (Doha), the 12th (Abu Dhabi), the 13th (Muscat), the 16th (Kuwait), the 7th (Doha), 18th (Abu Dhabi), and the 9th (Muscat).



Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the 18th Arabian Gulf Cup, in which the UAE earned the championship title for the first time in 35 years.



Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee in the GCC Champions League in 2001, where the club won the championship to become the second club in the UAE that won the football championship.



Vice-President of the General Assembly of the Football Association in 2001, which included 40 members representing all the clubs of the State.



Vice-President of the Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup from in 1996, obtained Silver Asia, and qualified for the Confederations Cup in Riyadh.



Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the GCC Champions League in 1994.



Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Club since 1977, and Al Ain Club won the first place in the championship at the UAE level.

His Excellency adopted the (Note Clubs) project with Sheikh Mani bin Khalifa Al Maktoum in 1981, which played a significant role in dealing with a lot of topical issues, including the assessment of foreign players, and these clubs have left a good memory in the minds up to this day.
