His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, welcomed the great achievement by the civil aviation sector in the country, praising the efforts by those in charge of the safety of civil aviation, and commending the upscale level of the air transport services in the UAE, which have been on a par with the services offered by the world’s most prestigious countries in the aviation industry in terms of quality and diversity.
This came on the occasion of UAE’s major and unprecedented achievement of becoming ahead of the countries of the world in the application of the standards of civil aviation safety, through the monitoring assessment program for the safety of civil aviation, which is run by the International Civil Aviation Organization «ICAO», where the UAE topped the world in the application of safety standards and got a success rate of 98.8% in the application of civil aviation safety standards, the highest rate ever granted by the international organization in this context.
The Minister predicted that such an achievement will launch a new phase of growth for the air transport sector, which – thanks to the last and other achievements- has become able to compete strongly, whether in the domestic or international markets, pointing out that the UAE civil aviation sector has a good reputation among industries in the world and among consumers.
