His Excellency Sheikh “Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan”, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the importance of cooperation between the higher educational institutions and representatives of the defense sector. This came on the occasion of the start of the Defense Innovation and Technology Conference (DITEC) 2015, under the slogan “From Ideas to Applications” , which aims to shed light on the latest scientific and technological trends and innovation in the field of defense and national security.
With the participation of the Ministry of Defense as a strategic partner and the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee as an organizer of the event, DITEC brings together world leaders to showcase the success stories from around the world on innovation and technology in the defense sector, and display the latest technologies and applications, as well as discuss ways to take advantage of military innovations within the civil sector.
DITEC is attended by a group of speakers from the UAE, who represent a number of authorities, such as the Ministry of Defense, Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee, TAWAZUN Holding, Mubadala Development Company, UAE Space Agency, Khalifa University, Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC”, and UAE University.
During the Conference, the engineering and research aspects and the development initiatives and prospects in the empowerment and sustainability of development in the UAE defense sector were presented, and the latest scientific and technological trends and innovation in the field of defense and national security were shed light on.
It is noteworthy that the activities of DITEC 2015 began on Wednesday, February 25th, in Abu Dhabi for one day, which came within the activities of the International Defense Exhibition and Conference “IDEX 2015”, whose opening was attended by His Excellency, and the Conference was strongly patronized by the wise leadership of the UAE, which made it successful and excellent.
