Dr. Ahmed Abdul Khaliq, Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, has invited His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to visit Egypt, in order to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two countries in areas of common interest. This came during Abdul Khaliq’s discussion with a delegation of Al Maktoum Foundation, chaired by His Excellency Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, and Director of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Office, of ways of cooperation between the two sides in the field of higher education, and focusing on the training of girls in particular in areas such as important professions for the breadwinning women. The Egyptian Minister briefed the delegation on the outstanding educational programs in Egyptian universities and qualitative studies in biotechnology, medical engineering, petroleum engineering, mining, and medicine.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of cooperation regarding the participation of university students in the programs and courses of Al Maktoum College in Dundee, Scotland, in order to learn about the British society and train them on dialogue with others, and hold an exhibition of Egyptian higher education in the UAE, to introduce students to the programs and institutions of higher education in Egypt in general and the new programs in particular. For his part, Mirza Al Sayegh, presented the activities and programs of the Foundation in the field of education and higher education, pointing to the possibility of cooperation with Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Scotland, and making use of graduate studies in the field of Islamic studies, studies on Jerusalem, and courses organized in the field of academic education, multiculturalism, and leadership. He also presented the role of Hamdan Bin Rashid schools in a number of African countries and their role in the dissemination of education, community development, and Islamic centers in a number of European countries.
The delegation of Al Maktoum Foundation invited the Egyptian Minister to visit the UAE to support ways of cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Al-Maktoum College of Higher Studies.
