The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday 20th of May 2015, hosted the third meeting of the joint working team between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries Arabic and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of education. The meeting was chaired from the GCC side by his Excellency Mr. Saif Rashed Al Mazroui, Adviser to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE, and from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s side by his Excellency Mohammad Okour, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education. The meeting came at the direction of his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, public education, and in the field of scientific education.
During the meeting, the most important actions and follow-ups on cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research were discussed, including the invitation of the Secretariat General of the GCC to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Jordan, to participate in the 4th Festival of University Theatre from 27-31 March 2016. The Secretariat General also invited the Jordanian side to participate in the Gulf School Olympiad for the participation of school students of general education in the Hashemite Kingdom as an observer Olympiad hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Council countries, in addition to providing the Secretariat with any seminars, activities and any public education conferences. In the field of scientific and technical cooperation, the two sides stressed the need to exchange pioneering experiences in scientific and technical education such as strengthening the foundations of the partnership between institutions of technical education and the labor market, the quality of technical education and accreditation, and qualifying cadres working in technical and vocational education and their training.
