Upon the directives of his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Ministry in its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, during the period from the 6th to 7th of May 2015, hosted the third meeting of the Gulf Moroccan joint work team with the Kingdom of Morocco in the field of education. The meeting was chaired on the GCC’s side by his Excellency Mr. Saif Rashed Al mazrouei, Adviser to the Minister of Higher Education And Scientific Research in the UAE, and on the Moroccan side by Mr. Mohammad Abu Saleh, a writer of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training, with the participation of representatives from the two sides, the Secretariat General, and the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States. The meeting recommended to emphasize on attendance and participation in activities held by the two sides to achieve the goals agreed upon, and each of the two parties to provide the Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council with the calendar of activities and events which will take place during the remainder of the year 2015 and 2016, and to specify the authorities to address and coordinate with for participation, to be addressed three months earlier for both sides to be nominated and participate, also Professor Alia Suilem, international cooperation official at the Secretariat was named as the representative of the Gulf side, and Professor Ayyoob Al Zayani, as a representative of the Moroccan side to follow up the implementation of the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides. The meeting reviewed the most important actions and follow-ups for the implementation of the joint cooperation plan between the two sides in the field of higher education and scientific research, and since the second meeting of the Committee in November 2014 in Casablanca. As the Secretariat General of the GCC clarified that it coordinated with the Committee of Deans of Student Affairs in universities and higher education institutions in the GCC countries, to host students from the Kingdom of Morocco in events and activities that take place in 2015. It also coordinated with the Committee to determine the fifth foreign visit of university and institutions of higher education students in the countries of the Council to the Kingdom of Morocco during the period from 6th -14th of June 2015. The secretariat further added that higher education institutions in the GCC countries introduced Islamic history of Morocco and the Arab world geography curriculum in some of its Governmental universities, and it proposed distinct experiences in the financial and economic areas, electronic education and human resources development. Also an invitation was sent to the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education to participate in the fourth Festival of University Theatre in the period from the 21st -27th of March 2016. The meeting recommended to constantly update and follow-up on the mechanisms and objectives, and for the Secretariat General to coordinate to invite the heads of universities in the Kingdom of Morocco to participate in the Global Education Supplies and Solutions 2016. And the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Professional Training to coordinate student’s foreign visits for students of universities and higher education institutions of the Member States of the Council to be held in Morocco during the period from the 6th -14th of June 2015, in coordination with the University Hassan II, Al Atiqiyah School, the Hassan II Mosque, Mohammed V University and Dar El hadith El Hassania Establishment and Cadi Ayyad University. Also recommended to participate in the fourth University Theatre Festival, held by the Omani Ministry of Higher Education during the period from the 27th -31st of March 2016. The Moroccan side is also to provide the Gulf side with a detailed report about its experience of successful cooperation with the European side in the Erasmus and Horizon 2020 programs and ways to benefit the GCC countries, in addition to its experience in academic accreditation. In the area of public education, the Moroccan Ministry of Education was invited to attend School Leadership Forum, which was held in Jeddah in February 2015, the selection of a distinguished school, was also reviewed, to organize school competitions in cooperation with the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, and to discuss the involvement of general education students in in the Kingdom of Morocco in the summer Olympics held by the Ministries of Education in the Gulf countries. The meeting recommended in this framework to address the Secretariat of Ministries of Education in GCC countries to examine the possibility of preparing a draft of requirements, standards, budgets, regulations and mechanisms for action to hold student competitions to be held at a distinguished school in the GCC countries, to be presented at the next meeting. It also recommended that the Secretariat be provided with the date of holding the Gulf Summer Olympics to be able to invite the Moroccan side to participate in it. The secretariat stressed the importance of providing what seminars, conferences of general education to coordinate participation in them. In the field of scientific and technical cooperation, the Kingdom of Morocco has been supplied by the GCC leading experiences in technical and vocational education and to consolidate the partnership between educational institutions and the labor market, and to adjust the quality of technical education and accreditation, and qualifying cadres working in technical and vocational education and training. And stressing the need to complete the rest of the mechanism for cooperation and provide the Secretariat with dates of conferences, seminars and events to be coordination and participation in this area. At the end of the meeting it was agreed to hold the fourth meeting in the Ministry of Higher Education And Scientific Research and Professional Training in Morocco, during the month of November 2015. The meeting was held in the presence of Professor Abdelkabeer Tiwari, Chairman of the Cooperation Department in the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training of Morocco. From the UAE side; Youmna Hamad Bodowah, Assistant Undersecretary of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Jassim Mohammed Abdel Karim, specialist in social studies curricula of the Ministry of Education, and Professor Zahra Mohamed Ali Hashim, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education. And from Bahrain; Professor Nadia Abdallah Hammoud, Head of the Accademic Accreditation. And from Saudi Arabia; Nasser Abdullah Yemeni, Director General of Educational Supervision in the Ministry of Education, and Dr. Omar Al Rayes, Adviser from the Ministry of Higher Education. And from the Sultanate of Oman; Asadollah Ahmed Al Ajmi, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Academic Affairs. And from Qatar; Mr. Saeed Jassim Al Sayed, expert of services in the Higher Council for Education. And from Kuwait; Professor Rumi Al Hazaa, Director of coordination and follow-up in general education. And from the Arab Bureau of Education; Mr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, head supervisor of Department of Programs. And from the Secretariat General; Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Mashal, and Professor Alia Abdullah Al Suwailem, from the Department of Education.
