Within the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE University is first in the State in the QS University Rankings Arab Region

The QS University Rankings: Arab Region results were announced today in Dubai within the (QS) World University Rankings, in the event organized by UAE University in at Rose Rayhaan by Rotana Hotel, Dubai, in collaboration with IELTS English program, on Thursday 11-6-2015, with representatives from Arab and international universities, where UAE University came in sixth place in the Arab world and the American University of Sharjah in seventh place.  Professor Mohammed Mohamed Albaili, Deputy VC for Academic Affairs of UAE University said at the opening of the launch of the results, UAE University prides itself on its strategic partnership with (QS) for ranking universities and ongoing collaboration between the two institutions and the University organizing the event to launch the results of best 100 Arab University, which is an addition to distinguish the University which came in sixth place in the Arab region and first on the national level and Fourth in the Gulf. Albaili stressed that the scientific and academic position of UAE University was the result of continuous work and effort under the guidance of his Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education And Scientific Research and Chancellor of the University, since his Excellency believes that the global and regional position, ranking and classification of the University is a challenge to be accomplished and maintained with continued progress.  Dr. Albaili added that the University’s administration has developed a strategic plan for the advancement of all services provided by the University beginning with teaching and research services and ending in its active role in the community service system, this ranking is not seen as an accomplishment rather as a new step on the way of excellence and leadership, the ranking reflects the position of the University in various areas such as scientific research and the diversity of the students and the teaching body in addition to the quality of programs offered and the registered patents.  The results of the ranking of best 10 Arab universities; King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals came in first place while the American University of Beirut in second place and King Saud University in Saudi Arabia in third place, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia in fourth place, American University in Cairo in the fifth place while UAE University came in sixth place, the American University of Sharjah in seventh place, the University of Jordan in eighth place, Cairo University in ninth place, and in tenth place Jordan University of Science and Technology.  The Research Manager at QS identified the nine international indicators: Academic reputation (30%); employer reputation (20%); faculty student ratio (20%); web impact from Webometrics (10%); proportion of international faculty (2.5%); proportion of international students (2.5%) proportion of staff with PhD (5%); citations per paper (5%); and papers per faculty from Scopus (5%).
