Over 28 experts in the field of broadcasting from the Middle East region made their presentations at the ITP Broadcast conference 2011 held on Wednesday in Dubai under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the National Media Council.
The inaugural conference organised by ITP at the at Dubai’s Habtoor Grand Resort and Spa was jointly presented by Digital Studio and Digital Broadcast magazines and was attended by over 150 of the region’s key broadcast media professionals.
Director of the Media Content Department at the NMC Juma’a Alleem delivered the inaugural speech welcoming the media professionals from the GCC and the region into the groundbreaking event.
He expressed thanks to the ITP group for organising the event at a time when the industry is witnessing vast opportunities and challenging developments in the region.
He stressed that the broadcasting industry in the UAE finds great support from the government as it is evident in the remarkable growth and significant development in recent years with successful initiatives such as the Media City and the Studio City in Dubai and the Media region Two Four 54 in Abu Dhabi. Other areas like Ras Al Kahimah, Ajman and Fujairah have also made major strides in the media broadcasting sector, he noted.
He also emphasised the keenness of National Media Council to support such conferences, thus creating suitable platform for discussing continuing developments in this fast changing industry.
Delegates saw some of the region’s key players from broadcasters including Abu Dhabi Media, Dubai Media Inc, Turner Broadcast, Sky and Al Arabiya, as well as representatives from key manufacturers and integrators such as Snell, Avid, First Gulf, Riedel and Fujinon take part in a host of panel discusions and workshops on topics as wide-ranging as revenue generation, multi-platform media and 3D production, as well as having the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with fellow industry professionals.
