National Media Council (NMC) Office in Dubai organised a symposium here today at the theatre of the Ministry of Public Works to mark the UAE’s 40th national day anniversary.
Present were the employees of NMC and Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Jumma Alleem, Director of the NMC Office in Dubai, delivered an inaugural speech in which he welcomed the participants and audience. “We are proud to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the UAE Union. It is a dear occasion that fills us with joy as we yield fruits of the federation founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum”.
He added that the memory of late Sheikh Zayed will remain burning to inspire generations to come, indicating that the course of the late Sheikh Zayed is followed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Alleem said “We seize this opportunity to congratulate and pledge the allegiance to the UAE President, the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Members of Supreme Council, Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates and the UAE people.”
Poet A’rif al-Sheikh, delivered a patriotic poem, in which he expressed his love for the country and leadership.
Abdullah Mousa, of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charity Work in Dubai delivered a lecture titled: “Be grateful to Allah for His blessings,” citing the accomplishments being reaped by the UAE under the Union.
For his part, Ibrahim Mohammed Saleh, Director of Ajman Museum, talked about the UAE traditions and cultural heritage, stressing the need for preserving and introducing them to new generations.
