Seaports, Airports Security sponsors International Code Session’s Graduation Ceremony

The Higher Committee for the UAE Civil Seaports and Airports celebrated at its training centre, the graduation of attendees of the International Code Session, in which 14 security officers from different ports, the National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA) and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR).

Present were Sultan bin Yaqoub Al Zaabi, Executive Director for Seaports and Airports Security, directors, heads of sections and members of the Committee.

Bin Yaqoub said the session was held under the directives by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the UAE Civil Seaports and Airports and in line the annual training strategy of the Committee for year 2011. The first training session focused on introduction of the participants to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS CODE).

“The objective aim of this session is to introduce ports security officers to the latest developments and amendments to the International Code since its issuance. They were also educated about the advanced search methods and evaluation of the ports security plans”, he added.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Bin Yaqoub presented the certificates to the trainees, wishing them success in their tasks.
