The National Media Council organised a cultural programme in its courtyards today as part of the festivities marking the 40th National day of the UAE.
The celebrations, held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of National Media Council, took the gathering into the memories of the past and the land’s rich heritage.
Poets recited their versifications in love of the nation, as symbols of the country’s earlier Bedouin life such as race camels and falcons lined up nearby.
Long flags and colourful balloons had adorned the canopies erected for the occasion and folklore foods were served from a traditional kitchen for all those who attended the celebration.
The event reflected the cheer of the employees at the National Media Council to participate in the celebrations marking the occasion.
