Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, has endorsed the names of 167 Emiratis to benefit from ownership of government houses in the emirates of Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras al-Khamiah and Fujairah, in accordance with the federal law number 11 issued in 2007, on regulation of benefiting from government houses.
This resolution was made by the Government Houses’ Distribution Committee, which held its meeting recently at the Ministry of Public Works under chairmanship of Dr Eng. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry. Also present were Eng. Zahra Al Aboudi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry for Housing and Urban Planning Sector, members of the committee from the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, Directors of Municipalities from concerned emirates, and representatives from the ministries of Finance, Social Affairs and Economy.
Al Nuaimi said the beneficiaries will soon receive regulations on ownership in their emirates at the offices of the Ministry of Public Works, indicating that a beneficiary must present an identification document when receiving the ownership guides. If the beneficiary fails to show up, an authorised person must also present a document showing he/she has been authorised by a beneficiary.
For her part, Eng. Azza Suleiman, Director of the Housing Department at the Ministry, Chairperson for the Ownership Team and Secretary of the Government Houses’ Distribution Committee, said the beneficiaries or those authorised on their behalves should go to the offices of the ministry in their emirates and submit a request on ownership of the government residence.
The department had launched the awareness campaign last week on importance of owning the government house.
