The National Media Council (NMC) has asserted the UAE’s determination to advance the GCC media strategy.
”The UAE, acting upon directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of NMC, will remain committed to activating cooperation among TV and Radio stations in the GCC member states and using joint programmes in implementation of recent resolutions issued by
the GCC ministers of information,” said Abdullah Al Junaibi, Adviser at NMC for TV and Radio Cooperation, at the meetings of GCC Joint Program Production Institution (GCCJPPI) which Kuwait hosted recently.
Apart from Al Junaibi, who lead the UAE delegation to the meetings, Dr. Khaled Al Midfa, Director of Sharjah TV and Radio, took part in the 26th meeting of TV directors and 11th meeting of radio stations directors, both organised by the GCCJPPI.
Al Midfa said the GCC top broadcasters evaluated performance of the GCCJPPI and discussed its future plans.
They, he added, reviewed the new GCC media strategy which was approved by GCC leaders and achievements made last year.
