Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, toured today the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) on its third day.
Staged at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the 14th-17 September 2011 is held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club. This national event will enjoy camel auctions, saluki beauty contests, art competitions and traditional hunting and equestrian activities. The annual event has rapidly gained international recognition and widespread popularity in the last seven editions, attracting over 100,000 visitors from around the world in 2010 alone.
Since its launch ADIHEX has grown from strength to strength and is now one of the most popular exhibitions in Abu Dhabi, encouraging, protecting and safeguarding many traditional values of the Emirates. These values are reflected in many of the activities that dominated life in the region: horsemanship, falconry, hunting, fishing and arts and crafts.
Sheikh Hamdan spent some time visiting stands displaying the latest technology in camping, falconry, equestrian, outdoor sports, firearms and ammunitions, fishing, archery, shooting sports and hunting gears from a group of local and international brands.
He heard presentations from exhibitors about their novel products.
Sheikh Hamdan lauded the broad participation and good organization of the event, saying ADIHEX has made a reputed regional and international fame for its role as a promoter of sustainable hunting in the attendance of major and prestigious international trademarks in weapons and equipment industry.
Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase the latest camping, hunting, and equestrian and weaponry equipment from over 500 brands.
Organizers have also designated a heritage area to acquaint visitors with the deep-rooted traditions of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
