His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces has stressed the importance of fisheries resource conservation, being one of the main food security sources.

He added that the fishing profession plays an important role in the socio-economic development in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed made the remarks here today in Al Muairaidh district, while visiting the fishermen.

He added that the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan supports the fisheries sector to ensure sustainability of the fisheries reserve and social and material stability of the fishermen.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince was briefed by the fishermen about their needs and conditions. They demanded upgrading of the profession so that they play a role in the community.

The fishermen said that the unlimited support from the UAE President and follow up by Sheikh Mohammed, encourage them to sustain the fishing profession, a traditional forefathers profession. They expressed their delight about the visit of Sheikh Mohammed.

Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Abdullah Muhair Al Ketbi, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court and Jobr Mohammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court.
