Abu Dhabi, Sep 11th, 2011 (WAM)– Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Chairman of the Board of National Transport Authority here today signed two Memoranda of Understanding with Staff Major General Essa Saif Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Vice Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, on the establishment of a National Centre for Specification and Classification of Ships, and the Endorsement of the Naval Forces School (NFS), as a training agency.

The first MoU aims to benefit from the capabilities and expertise available on both sides in this respect. While the second MoU aims to endorse the Naval Forces School (NFS) as a training agency in accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for the Seafarers.

By signing the two MoUs, the National Transport Authority seeks to achieve its strategic objective to raise the efficiency of maritime transport and ensure its sustainability through the development of federal legislation in accordance with the practices of the global infrastructure.
