Abu Dhabi, Aug. 26th, 2011 (WAM)— In response to an invitation from the National Media Council , a media delegation from Europe has visited the UAE and met with a number of ministers and senior officials to get acquainted with the economic, educational, cultural and tourist development in the country.
The delegation included prominent journalists from France, UK and Belgium.
The group has met H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah. They have been briefed on the development in educational and cultural fields.
The journalists have also paid a visit to the Emirates News Agency and the National Media Council.
The visitors’ tour in Abu Dhabi included Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque, the Emirates Palace and various attractions on Al Saadiyat and Yas Islands.
Describing it as a ” seemless architectural masterpiece”, the visitors expressed their admiration of Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque and hailed the activities and the mass iftars held in it during the holy month of Ramadan.
In Dubai, the delegation took a tour in Khalifa Tower and the surrounding area
