DUBAI: 31/1/2011 Minister of Public Works Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan has approved the delivery of the last batch of housing units granted by the government to nationals in the northern emirates.
The new 273 housing units which constitute the last batch of the federal government’s grants to nationals are distributed as follows: 206 houses in Ras Al Khaimah, 53 in Fujairah, 6 in Sharjah, 4 in Ajman and 4 in Umm Al Qaiwain.
This was announced by Dr Abdullah Balhef Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Public Works Ministry.
A total of 4608 houses were granted so far by the federal government to nationals in northern emirates in addition to 1472 houses granted by the local governments of these emirates taking the grand total up to 6080 houses, which is, the official noted, beyond the targeted number.
He noted that more than 10000 housing units were built by the federal ministry of public works for nationals between 1973 and 2001.
He also noted federal law No. 11/2007, approved by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on August 28th, 2007, which regulates benefiting from the government houses
