Following their 3-0 victory over Thailand in the Asia League Ice Hockey Championship title, the UAE Ice Hockey team were given a royal welcome by UAE sports officials at the VIP Terminal of Royal Jet, the international luxury flight services company chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
Royal Jet provided the winning team with the perfect air travel experience that befits champions as one of its luxurious Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) flew the whole team back to the UAE from India. This was the UAE national team’s second victory in the championship history.
Welcoming the team home were Talal Al Hashmi, Member of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Hamel Al Qubaisi, Vice President of the UAE Ice Hockey Association, Hamad Al-Sheryani, Head of the UAE Ice Hockey National Team and Royal Jet’s meet-and-greet officials and staff.
Royal Jet has been supporting a number of UAE and regional, national and local teams as they travel across the world to compete and represent their countries at various international tournaments and has had the privilege of sharing in their victorious moments when they return home.
The UAE Ice Hockey team won the Asia League Ice Hockey Championship for the first time in Abu Dhabi in 2009 and was the runner-up in 2010 and 2011.
