Unified Center for the Management and Regulation of Marine Vehicle Registration Opens in Abu Dhabi

H.E. Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of the National Transport Authority, and H.E. Staff Brigadier Pilot Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, opened a unified center for the management and regulation of the registration process for marine vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The unified center combines the efforts of CNIA, the Ministry of Environment and Water, the National Transport Authority and the Department of Transport.
CNIA will manage the main marine vehicle license center in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and will establish more branches in the Western Region. The departments concerned will have a services window to provide registration services which will be linked to an integrated database.
The main objectives for establishing this unified center is to link the most essential government departments responsible for the regulation of safe usage of marine vehicles; to enhance the services provided to the owners and operators of marine vehicles (whether for entertainment or trade); and to enhance, coordinate and exchange data through the establishment of an integrated database that registers all marine vehicles with a specific number.
H.E. Staff Brigadier Pilot Sheikh Ahmed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan stated: “The establishment of this unified center is in line with our endeavors for excellence and for further development of our services to the public through simplifying and accelerating the registration and licensing process”.
His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed added that the center will save time and effort because inspection, testing and security checks will take place in one area. This is the beginning of coordination and cooperation with the five (5) government departments that play an essential and vital role in the protection of the marine environment of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
