His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of UAE University, participated in the “Reading retreat” attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday 11th of January, 2016.
The retreat compromised of 100 important national figures concerned with the year of reading, to develop a general framework, and discuss national initiatives that work to promote reading and make it a permanent habit in the UAE.
The participants in the retreat discussed more than 100 ideas and initiatives, which will be the backbone of long-term strategy to be applied across all the sectors concerned.

- The authorities headed by His Excellency achieved first and advanced ranks in the development initiatives launched by the Council of Ministers
