His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of UAE University, stressed that the flag is a symbol of national identity and belonging, it means a lot to any citizen, and we’re proud of our flag in the State, it represents our pride, and we are lucky to have our flag and our wise leadership, that gave us all we need for a happy life, so we took our place among the advanced peoples of the Earth, and our flag will remain a standing symbol for identity and originality, and a witness to its highness and the dignity of its people, and the prestigious international status that it occupies in all international forums, the UAE is moving forward in the process of evolution, and is racing against the clock to gain one achievement after another, to please humans and to build the era of development, civilization and sophistication..
His Excellency said that his assigning of Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Flag Day on the third of January is in perfectly correct standing and timing, on this national event, is a renewal of the place of the UAE flag, and is a sign of pride and a symbol of unity and the cohesion of citizens under his wise leadership, and we recall the efforts of the founding fathers who raised the State’s flag high and were loyal to it.
His Excellency also pointed out that the UAE flag has another symbolism, it represents the highest meaning of peace, justice, tolerance, strength and moderation, wherein everyone enjoys a dignified life, with security and stability, this comes as an extension to the process initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of Emirates, until UAE has held the first place for countries that provide aid in the world, adding that the flag has also increased in dignity and honor, when the Emirati heroes embodies the greatest sacrifice to defend their homeland and nation representing pride and dignity, especially the hero martyrs whose bodies were adorned with flag, the “martyrs of duty”. We must all work to instill the value of the flag and its symbolism in the hearts of our children, since it represents our union, our identity, our strength and pride.
On this precious occasion his Excellency congratulated the wise leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and his Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
