His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, valued the launch of “Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” Foundation, as the largest development, community foundation in the region to serve 116 countries, targeting 130 million people, with a focus on the Arab region.
His Excellency, after attending the launch of the Foundation on Sunday, October 5th, 2015, said “This comprehensive and integrated vision is not new to the UAE leadership, where religion, Arabism, originality, and humanity are their reference, on which they were raised by late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the father, who instilled such values in them”.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan added that the most important characteristic of this Foundation is its launch of the largest comprehensive development program that focuses on human development in an integrated manner, in terms of combating poverty, dissemination of knowledge, empowerment of the community, foreseeing and preparing for the future through innovation and building incubators for it, provision of a special environment for innovators, consolidation of a culture of tolerance and openness, promotion of a media and cultural discourse to enable communities to live in stability away from the speeches of exclusion, extremism, and ethnic, religious or sectarian discrimination, preservation of the Arabic language, and strengthening the culture of reading, stressing that spending on these aspects will achieve security, stability, empowerment and satisfaction to the entire region.
The program’s action plan is to provide basic human needs; health and fighting illiteracy and poverty, in addition to the provision of knowledge, dissemination of culture, development of education, translation of the most important 25000 books into the Arabic language from all the world languages to restore the role and importance of the book, working in parallel on the development of a generation of young Arab Leaders, supporting real change in the area of good governance in the region, and provision of the largest incubator for Arab innovators, scientists and researchers.
