His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed the importance of intensifying cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Education, to enhance the professional competence of the teacher, and to ensure the development of the educational process, through achieving optimal investment in young talent, and integration of innovative training programs that enable them to lead the students inside and outside schools, by contrast, achieving welfare and appreciation for the teacher, in a manner that preserves their prestige and stature in society, to achieve a stimulating environment for innovation and creativity, outstanding performance, and following the directions of the wise leadership, which is always seeking to achieve the objectives and axes of our national agenda and UAE Vision 2021, the most important of which is building a modern education that keeps pace with developments in the transition to a smart Government and opens the doors of opportunity for our students and undertakes their needs and requirements, and achieve high output level of the educational process.
On the occasion of World Teachers ‘ Day, which falls on the fifth of October each year, under the theme “Empowering teachers, building sustainable societies”, his Excellency stressed his support for the teacher because they are the basis and cornerstone of the educational process to achieve sustainable communities. And the State does not relent to giving priority, and providing a decent life for them to enable them to fulfill its mission, and focus all efforts for the development of the educational process.
On this occasion, his Excellency congratulated all teachers and workers of educational institutions throughout the State with the highest appreciation and respect, wishing them success for the good of our country and nation, for the success of our educational and scientific journey and to help our students to reach the desired scientific value and continue on our way in building the human, which is considered the most important wealth of this nation.
The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization-ISESCO-has issued a statement announcing that this day is an occasion for the nations of the World to review the efforts to meet the major challenges of providing education for all after 2015, considering teachers are the cornerstone for the provision of quality education at all levels of the educational system, given their central role in building the minds and behaviors of the present and future generations.
The ISESCO confirmed that in its future work plan for the years (2016-2018), it will continue to give priority attention in its programs relating to basic education, literacy, non-formal education, technical, vocational education and training and higher education, to build the capacity of teachers and trainers, in order to enable them to contribute effectively to improving the inputs and outputs of the educational systems.
