Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the UAE University, has said that the Federal National Council (FNC) election is deemed a pioneer national experience that takes into account the specificity of the supreme national, societal and cultural interests.
He added, “The UAE is experiencing an important transformational and developmental stage that enhances its role and position through consolidation of concepts of political awareness and patriotism.”
Sheikh Hamdan said the electoral experience has established a new phase of political participation in the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the follow up of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He noted that this national experience “is embodied in the FNC through political empowerment initiative launched by the UAE President in 2005 to strengthen the FNC to carry out its role effectively.”
Sheikh Hamdan commended the youth for exercising their electoral rights. He also congratulated the winners in the FNC elections.
