The Cabinet of Ministers headed by His Highness Sheikh “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum”, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of “Dubai”, approved the restructuring of the “UAE University” and “Zayed University’s” Board of Directors in its meeting on Sunday March (16th) in the Presidential Palace.
The Emirates University Board of Directors is chaired by Sheikh “Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan”, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the membership of “Mohammad Abdullah Al Gargawi”, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, his Excellency “Hamid bin Mohammed Obaid Al Qattami”, Minister of Education, “Abdullah Nasser Bin Huwaileel Al Mansouri” and “Nora Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi “, Ms. “Aisha Abdullah Omran” and “Saif Mohamed Al Hajeri”.
The cabinet also approved the restructuring of the “Zayed University” Board to be chaired by Sheikha “Lubna Al Qasimi”, Minister of Development and International Cooperation, and the membership of his Excellency “Khaldoun Khalifa Ahmad Al Mubarak”, “Ali Rashid Al Ketbi”, Dr. “Amal Abdullah Juma Al Qubaisi”, “Sami Al Qamzi”, “Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi”, “Ahmad Bin Byat” and “Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi”.
In the presence of his Highness Sheikh “Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan”, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, His Highness said that the next priority for the boards of both universities will be to raise their level globally, strengthen their academic role and develop future research and studies that benefit the community.
The Cabinet has endorsed setting up of the UAE National Institute for Medical Specializations (UAE Medical Board) to which will enable physicians to complete their higher education within the State and from the hardship of traveling and away from home and family.
He added that all the proposals adopted during the recent UAE brainstorming sessions have become part of the Cabinet agenda, adding that the government agencies started to implement all the proposals, following the Cabinet retreat. He cited that the proposal for developing the UAE Medical Board was suggested in the field and endorsed on Sunday by the Cabinet to upgrade medical cadres through continuous training in cooperation with the national and international educational institutions.
